Hello, I work within the Transport and Logistics division of a shipowner called Louis Dreyfus Armateurs. I am the general manager for the Dubai branch called LDPL Middle East Shipping. We are specialised in dry bulk cargo offshore transshipments and ship management. We manage all aspects (QHSE, technical, manning, operations) of a fleet of 21 ships. My main tasks are: - Prepare long-term and short-term strategies and objectives and implement them - Manage business activities, financial investments and business ventures - Supervises all business operations taking into consideration the political, economic, financial and other business situations - Monitor Company’s performance and operations and trigger corrective actions - Allocate resources effectively and fully utilize assets to reach the Company’s objectives - Reviews and approves budgets, forecasts and plan for business - Oversees the accounts and authorizes payments - Ensures all matters related to legal, insurance and regulatory are handled efficiently - Serve as public face of the Company - Build strong relationship with the customers in order to maintain good revenue growth. - Network and enhance the Company’s reputation and look for opportunities to expand the Company - Share a trusting and motivating working environment, recruit, manage, train and mentor staff - Review and renew employees working contract - Make sure that the employees are providing productive results for the Company - Encourage innovative ideas from the employees and implement them Feel free to contact me if you want to know more about my job Stephane
