I work as an Intermodal trainee at Werner Enterprises, one of the biggest trucking companies in North America that provides different transportation solutions and models that adapt to customer needs.

My main role is to manage orders and schedule pick up appointments for two of our corporate accounts.
-Deal with railroads, carrier planners and customer service associates.
-Update orders in the system and make sure rates for shipments are in place.

I was referred by a friend who was just starting at Werner Mexico/Werner Enterprises. Her new boss was looking for an ICS.
I had no experience in this field but my boss at the time had no problem teaching me everything about rail transportation. I started in 2015 as an ICS,after 8 months I was promoted to market planner. A year after I became a mother and wanted more flexibility with my time, so I applied for an Intermodal Sales Manager position in 2017. The best job of my life so far. In 2020 I moved to the USA due to my husband’s job and I had to quit. My second child was a newborn at that time and the pandemic crashed the world when we moved to the US. I stopped working for two years to become a full-time mother.
I wanted to go back to work but I didn’t have enough time to have a full-time job. I got a great opportunity to go back to Werner. I am fortunate to have a job within the industry I love and the schedule that adapts to my full-time job: being a mother.
