Hello, I am Ashley Boolell, an investment banking executive with more than 18 years of experience within my field. I started in Commodities before expanding my activities to Capital Raising, Forex and Trade Finance. In addition to my career as a financier, I am a Foreign Trade Advisor for France in the UK. Commodities Hedging 4. Trade Finance My career started right before the 2008 financial crisis but it was also a time when the Commodities Markets were expanding tremendously. After working for 7 years in Paris at Natixis, the French Investment Bank, I moved to the bank's London branch in 2013. I stayed for 4 more years at Natixis before moving to Shard Capital where I set up the Forex and Commodities hedging franchise. In 2024, I decided to become an entrepreneur by setting up my own finance firm, Ryuken Capital. Beyond my work as a finance professional, I am also a writer. My first novel, Psycho Shark, was published in 2013. It tells the story of a crazy trader in a French financial services firm. This novel is now considered as the Parisian equivalent of the "Wolf of Wall Street". I have since published five more novels, both in French and English (Killed In, The Disruptors and Market Dystopia). My first non-fiction book called Shotgun Insights - 33 Life and Business Lessons From Unconventional Sources was published in 2023. Lecturing at Business Schools is also part of my activities, with Commodity Markets being the primary focus of my teachings. I have lectured at the following French Business Schools: SKEMA, ESLSCA, INSEEC and ISG. Martial arts are also among my hobbies. I have been training in Jeet Kune Do for many years and I am on course to obtaining a black belt. This fighting system was developed by the legendary martial artist Bruce Lee.
