Hello, I am a humanitarian worker. I work for UNHCR and I have now been seconded to Education Cannot Wait the UN Global Fund for Education in Emergencies and Protracted Situations as Chief Forced Displacement Response in New York. After many years managing operations in the field that seek to provide protection to refugees and search for durable solutions, this job new has enabled me to return to global and strategic issues and policy. I have always been passionate about education and girls' education in particular so this new job is a wonderful match. My main responsibilities are to provide substantive expert advice, analysis and strategic direction on refugee protection and solutions responses whether in emergencies or in protracted situations; refugee protection and resilience in the field of education policy in forced displacement situations to advance the goals of the Education Cannot Wait Global Fund, in line with the Global Compact on Refugees and UNHCR’s refugee education policy. After my studies at Sciences Po and EHESS, I established an NGO working for refugees in the Czech Republic. A few years later, I became a civil servant and managed the asylum system in New Zealand and later the country's integration strategy and coordination. I was then approached by UNHCR and encouraged to apply. I have since been working in a diversity of contexts. Feel free to contact me if you want to know more about my job! Fadela
