Hello, I am currently a self-employed company secretary after 17 years as secretary-general of a Belgian listed company in the IT sector. I am providing support to the Chairman of Board of Directors and the Board's committees guarantees smooth and effective working of the companies' governance bodies. If needed, I can assist the executive committee too, having been Company Secretary and General Counsel (and attorney, in a previous life). After my DEA in European Law (Toulouse I), I was an attorney in Belgian and international (US and French) law firms, established in Brussels. Halfway through my career, I was tempted to get into management and have a more immediate impact on the business. I accepted a job as secretary-general of a large IT company. After a few very difficult years, we turned the company around with the help of a US investment fund. Next, a friendly takeover of our main competitor led to the makings of a Belgian champion. The company was then acquired by a bigger French competitor (GFI Informatique) and was delisted. Thus, my function was redundant and I started in 2019 as self-employed company secretary for Belgian companies. Feel free to contact me if you want to know more about my job! Thierry
