Présentation de Benjamin
Hey there, I'm Ben, IT System Administrator at JFrog since 2018, a DevSecOps leader that provides solutions to liquify software and ease updates, where I'm in charge of supporting our 1500+ users as well as managing several projects in network, infrastructure or telecom, on top of being the Atlassian admin for both Jira & Confluence. My daily tasks are : - Providing IT Support for both Windows & MacOS environments to my end users (internal only, no customers) - Monitoring & handling network infrastructure, servers and equipments - Managing various projects to enhance our global IT infrastructure as we grow up bigger and bigger - Administration of our Atlassian Products as well as development of new solutions via scripting or automation. After 2 years at Université Toulouse II - Le Mirail, I had to stop college to pay for my flat and took a job in a tattoo parlour (there's not a lot you can do only with a "baccalauréat littéraire"), then moved to Paris to work in Technical Support for Free (Free support technique Benjamin bonjour, en quoi puis-je vous aider?). I eventually came back to Toulouse where I struggled to find a job for a few years, then spent my savings in my driving license and got a TOEIC certification in English to broaden my chances. Finally found a temporary contract that became a CDI for a diagnostic global public company called Cepheid in the middle of sh*tcreek. After spending 6 years there, I've got the opportunity to be the first IT in the French JFrog office thanks to a former colleague who's recently been appointed here. Being a former eSport athlete, I learned how teamwork and communication could let you achieve great stuff. Another thing you don't learn in school is the power of networking (as in friends & colleagues, not talking about ethernet) : maintaining a good professional network is the key, chances you're gonna get a position thanks to someone you know working there instead of applying to open positions are much higher. Having a gift with language is another perk as it helped me securing jobs in global companies where skills matter more than degrees (which is definitely a big limiting factor in franco-french companies). Being a geek since ages is just the icing on the cake to get a good job in a good company without having studied that field in any possible way. Google's your friend.
