Hello, I am Engineering Service Manager in Railways Business. Currently based in Israel, I spent 14 years in Germany working for 2 main Railways Industry Suppliers. I had also the opportunity to work abroad as support - from few weeks to 1 year in the USA. Maintaining trains combined a strong safety awareness as well as technical skills and discipline. My main duties are: - supporting the local maintenance engineering team in various fields like technical changes definition and validation, customer technical meeting, improving the reliability , training people , obsolescence, expertise of events online, etc. There is no real Railways school. All my carrier was oriented to maintenance / service engineering for building as well as Industry or Railways. This job is challenging in many views ; the customer / operator wants the maximum of trains online. On the top of that, they have to be safe and reliable. So the maintenance / inspections should be done professionally and with efficiency. No place for improvisation, qualified people required with a certain level of expertise amid the engineers.
