Hi, I have been working in academia for 12 years now. I have been part of the creation of a new university and can be consulted for ideas including pedagogical innovation, future of education, future of research, transdisciplinary research, design thinking and ideas in teaching and learning. My educational training is in physical chemistry and I can additionally help with understandings instruments used for materials research such as XPS, STM, AFM, VLS, NEXAFS and usage of synchrotron radiation. I was previously the associate dean of teaching and learning and was also heading all faculty of science and engineering which requires team management skills, capacity development, strategic planning, pedagogical training, budget management and ensuring overall excellence in the educational experience delivered. I also headed a center for transdisciplinarity, design and innovation. Through this platform I trained people in various forms of design research and design tools such as design thinking and human centred design. I’m now the Chief Learning Officer at San Francisco Bay University where I lead university's efforts in creating innovative teaching and learning frameworks and integrating AI within the academic offerings. Anzar My daily work is divided into several categories. 1) Administrative Tasks I have to attend several strategy meetings, faculty and staff hiring interviews, meetings with my team members to check on their progress, reach out to potential partners in the field of education, manage a budget, and create and execute a calendar of events for my office. 2) Teaching and Learning Tasks I design new courses for the university and teach them while practicing the latest developments in the field of teaching and learning. I also run several trainings and workshops throughout the year. I also have to set aside team to read on latest developments and to record my ideas that can eventually be put together as research papers, articles or book chapters. I have a PhD in Experimental Physics, but most of my professional work has been in the field of education, design research and history and philosophy of science. I have had the unique experience to help build a new university from scratch and doing this again now in San Francisco. I can talk about Higher Ed, AI in Education, Design Thinking and Design Research, and Space Design for teaching and learning
