Hi I'm the sales director for a small French company specializing in manufacturing IBM molds for the cosmetic, pharma and health care sectors. The major part of my job is to bring new business to the company, which means qualifying propsects, contacting and then visiting them, getting out the offers to their requests and then...closing the sale. A high degree of discipline is needed here regarding -tracability of commercial actions (without which there can be no structure to the long term road map) -updating regularly product knowledge -carrying out commercial and technical meetings -price negotiations and lead times -submitting to the team meeting reports (and strategic information on the prospect) -trade fair participation and budgets related to -prospection plans, budgets, Initially I was a process technician in the plastics industry in France. I entered this line of work with a BEP CAP in plastics (degree obtained through an adult training course of 2 years). Then after obtaining a BAC PRO (candidat libre), in plastics I went on to become a mold manufacturer mold tester with some closer contact with the customers. Finally I went back to school again (adult training course) CESI Nanterre and obtained my general engineer's degree. This is when I decided to combine my English, French language skills, project management skills and technical background skills to launch my sales career in the plastics industry in 2013.
