Hello, I lead the Procurement activities for DuPont's Industrial Solutions business (approx 2 B revenue business), coordinating the buying activities and cost tracking, as well as leading a global team of raw material and contract manufacturing buyers. I also buy Raw Materials (mainly specialty chemicals ) globally for industrial and healthcare applications. - understand the needs of various global production sites: which raw materials are needed and how much? Specifications? What prices are economically viable? - close supplier contact: insure supply, qualify new materials - negotiate commercial conditions ( much more than just price!) - develop market intelligence So an interesting balance of internal and external focus with direct impact on the profitability and growth of the business. Started as Chemical Engineer in R&D/ Application Development. Later: Leading technical team, Compliance leader, Product Management, Marketing & Sales, then Procurement.
