Hello, Director, Ion channel structure & channelopatties Laboratory Research: The overall goal of my laboratory is to investigate the activation mechanisms of Transient Receptor Potential (TRP) cation channels in the processes of survival, proliferation and migration in cancer. Teaching: Course coordinator and lecturer of ion channel Physiology and cell Physiology. Administration: Currently acting as a Director of Graduate Studies, I create new strategic plans to develop/improve our program, and I supervise the admissions process, awards competition, and students' progress reports. Yassine (Yass) El Hiani was born in Morocco where he earned his Bachelor of Science in 2003, at the University of Ibn Zoh in Agadir. He moved to France where he completed his graduate studies in Amiens, MSc (2004) & Ph.D. (2008) in the Laboratoire de Physiologie Cellulaire et Moleculaire at the University of Picardie Jules Verne (UPJV). He then moved to Halifax in Canada NS, where he trained as a postdoctoral fellow in the field of ion channel structure and biophysics at the University of Dalhousie in Halifax NS. In 2016, Yass joined Dalhousie University as an Assistant Professor and was tenured and promoted to Associate Professor in 2021. Feel free to contact me if you want to know more about my job Yassine
