Hello, I ensure the best sourcing options for Ford assembly plants in Europe. My daily duties: -Collect / Analyze / Store / Process / Communicate Competitive Automotive Benchmark Data from Emerging Markets around Europe and North Africa -Stay aware of Automotive Industry trends, technologies, key announced actions from Suppliers and OEMs -Identify cost optimization opportunities related to footprint -Provide key benchmark data helping in the negotiations of key cost elements and service conditions with suppliers -Drive transformation of Commodity/Components Purchasing Strategies to improve long-term cost baseline -Help Core Component/Commodity Buyers drive forward and implement business cases related to Emerging Markets Sourcing Opportunities to meet competitive sourcing objectives, providing benchmark data, suppliers profiles, suppliers facilities and capabilities assessment, freight and packaging costs, etc -Drive initial contacts between potential new Suppliers and Company Organizations (Product Development, Purchasing, Logistics). Act as single point of contact to help resolve areas of conflict or lack of communication with new potential supplier. -Understand product specifications and quotation process to train and develop new Suppliers. -Service follow-up and issue management -Drive development of Full Service Suppliers capable of meeting quality, cost, timing and technology targets in Emerging Markets locations. -Participate in the sourcing of parts and obtain cross functional buy-in from the core teams -Lead cross functional teams in re-sourcing actions and special optimization projects (logistics, value chain) -Support Make-Buy decision process Industrial Engineer, started as a material planner in the automotive industry. to realize after 4 years of work that i am meant to be in the purchasing field rather than logistics.
