|Former disaster preparedness and response specialist, set up humanitarian coordination mechanisms for affected communities to get a chance to recover from natural or man made disasters
In case of emergencies, used to be deployed in field operations to assess the impact of a disaster (natural disaster or conflict, outbreaks, etc) to set up an inclusive response strategy to optimise the humanitarian response and provide access to basic services, protection, etc to the most affected communities, write fund raising documents, and follow up the implementation of the response as advocate for the needs of the affected people.
When there is no disasters, I train countries /civil servants, humanitarians, private sector to be better prepared to respond to all types of disasters, build disaster preparedness and response tools .
I started as a geographer, was bored in France, went to Africa with MSF, learned a lot and swapped to the United Nations after 6 years to specialize myself in Disaster preparedness and response activities and humanitarian affairs. More than half of my professional time, I am on the roads.
